Serdar Şahin received the Master of Science in Engineering degree (M.Sc.Eng.) in Control Systems and Electronics Engineering from the
Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at
INSA de Toulouse, France, with a specialization on Embedded Systems, in September 2015.
From June 2016 to October 2019, Serdar Şahin has pursued his PhD in Digital Communications with the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (INP-ENSEEIHT),
with an industrial CIFRE contract with Thales Communications & Security, Gennevilliers.
He conduts his activities partly at the Waveform Design Lab at Thales and partly at the Signal and
Communications Group of the IRIT Laboratory.
His thesis subject is "Advanced Receiver Design for Distributed Cooperative Mobile Ad Hoc Networks", defended on the 10th of October 2019. He is currently working as a R&D engineer at Thales, Gennevilliers.
His main research interests are focused on digital receiver design, practical cooperative transmission schemes and performance prediction. He works, in particular, on the application of approximate Bayesian inference and deep learning techniques in the context of iterative receiver design.
Transversal fields of interest includes different aspects of digital signal processing systems; from high level signal processing or control algorithm design to low level embedded implementations on µC or FPGA.
